Summary

A number of comparisons of spectral UV measuring devices have been organised in the past. The longest history of mostly bilateral comparisons have been carried out within the EU funded project, QASUME. Since 2006, the QASUME travel reference spectroradiometer has been used by the WCC-UV Section for site audits around the world. See the QASUME project site for a complete list of comparisons. Next to the international campaigns of UV spectroradiometers, several UV filter radiometer comparisons have also been conducted.

Spectral UV Comparisons

Spectral UV campaigns that have been organised in the past include:

Participants of the Spectral UV Comparisons in Davos, 2014.

Regional Brewer Calibration Center – Europe (RBCC-E)

The RBCC-E organises an annual ozone calibration campaign in Spain and Switzerland. Next to the total ozone calibration of the participating Brewer spectrophotometers, the QASUME reference spectroradiometer acts as reference for the spectral UV measurements calibration.

Campaigns with the participation of the WCC-UV can be found on our:

UV Filter Radiometer Comparisons

Two large-scale UV Filter Radiometer Comparisons have been organised at PMOD/WRC. The participating radiometers weigh the solar irradiance with the erythemal, UVB, UVA or UVG action spectrum.

This was held within the COST 726 Action, and was effectively the First International UV Filter Radiometer Comparison (UVC-I).
